Adding one

  1. Open a page, click + Add Section.
  2. Choose Hero from the picker.
  3. Fill in the fields below, then click Save on the section.

The fields

  • Small Intro Text -- an optional short line above the main heading, such as a category or tagline.
  • Heading -- the large statement itself. Keep it short -- one sentence, or a fragment.
  • Text -- one or two supporting sentences underneath.
  • Button Text and Button URL -- an optional call-to-action button. Leave both blank to show no button.
  • Alignment -- Left or Center.
  • Background -- a shared setting used across most section types (White, Soft, Lavender, Aqua, and a few more depending on your theme) so backgrounds stay consistent site-wide.

Writing a Hero that works

Say what you do and who it is for in the Heading -- not a slogan a stranger would not understand. The supporting Text is where you can be a little more specific. The button should be the one action you most want a first-time visitor to take -- Book Now, Contact Us, or See Our Services, not a generic Learn More.
